Tackling stress at work

50% of American and Canadian employees report feeling stressed a majority of the day at work (according to Gallup's 2022 State of the Workplace survey [citation]) -- that number is staggering.

In other words, there's a good chance HALF of the people you work with, and/or who work for you, spend a majority (ie MOST) of their day at work feeling stressed.

Which isn't just bad for the humans who are feeling stressed (because chronic stress has very real repercussions on mental and physical health) but bad for your team and your organization because stress interferes with our ability to do our best work.

And despite the fact that more than half of American employers offer some form of mindfulness training to their workers (contributing to a global corporate wellness market projected to hit $80 billion by 2027) still the levels of stress and burnout at work are climbing.

So clearly this isn’t a quick fix problem. The answer is not simply more meditation or mindfulness app subscriptions. This is a widespread issue that’s going to need creative, innovative solutions.

But who has the capacity for conceptualizing and implementing those kinds of solutions when they are burned out, overwhelmed and stressed to the max??

How can we build the capacity necessary to make real change a reality?

That's where I believe breathwork comes in.

Breathwork isn't going to solve the burnout epidemic alone.
Breathwork isn't going to be the magic pill that fixes hustle culture.
Breathwork isn't going to be the ONLY thing your organization needs to take care of its people and their wellbeing.

But it can help you and your people manage stress NOW.

Breathwork is faster and more beneficial than conventional cognitive stress management [citation], meditation [citation], and mindfulness [citation]. Even 2 minutes of breathwork can help you make better decisions under pressure [citation].

Curious how breathwork can help your organization? Want to bring breathwork to your next professional development day, retreat or offsite? Let’s chat.
